UFC 222 results: Full winners, analysis and reaction from Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya

Cris Cyborg put her UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship on the line in the main event of UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya, and she was successful in her defense. She scored a first-round knockout over Yana Kunitskaya, earning her 20th career win.
Kunitskaya was scrappy, and fighting above her weight class. She threatened a submission early, and hopped onto Cyborg’s back at one point. Cyborg, though, eventually got back to her feet, out of the clinch, and every time she put her hands on Kunitskaya, she knocked her down. Eventually, she started hammering away while standing over Kunitskaya, and the referee stopped the fight.
Frankie Edgar was stunned by Brian Ortega in the penultimate fight on the card. Edgar was working his usual in-and-out game with quick jabs and an unrelenting pace. He landed some good shots on Ortega, the bigger, but slower fighter. Ortega took his time though, and eventually landed a short elbow and then a massive uppercut that put Edgar down.
Ortega remains undefeated with a 14-0 record after the first-round knockout. He’s finished 10 of his 14 wins, and has UFC wins over Edgar, Cub Swanson, Clay Guida and Thiago Tavares, among others.
In the third main card bout, bantamweight Sean O’Malley put on a showcase of technical, creative striking against Andre Soukhamthath. It wasn’t domination by any means, but he was on another level, and wound up taking a unanimous decision victory. That’s despite breaking his foot (or something close to it) while attempting a head kick in the third round, and being unable to put weight on his right side. He spent the rest of that round primarily on his back.
And on his back is also where Joe Rogan conducted the post-fight interview, crouching over the fighter while he was attended to by medical personnel.
Prior to that, Andrei Arlovski and Stefan Struve fought a close fight, but one that was ultimately a unanimous decision win for Arlovski, a long-time veteran of the sport who has changed up his game to be more competitive late in his career. He secured multiple points-scoring takedowns on Struve, but wisely kept himself away from Struve’s jiu-jitsu.
Arlovski, 39, now has 27 career wins as a professional.
In the main card opener, Ketlen Vieira bested Cat Zingano in a very exciting three-round fight. It was a split decision win for Vieira, who had to hold off a late surge from Zingano to notch the win.
On the preliminary card, Hector Lombard was disqualified in his middleweight contest against C.B. Dolloway, after he landed a pair of punches after the bell. Dolloway was unable to continue, so was declared the winner by DQ. There were four split decisions on the undercard, and the judging was often an issue.
The most notable result from the preliminary card was the bantamweight victory for John Dodson over Pedro Munhoz, a split decision win for the two-time flyweight title challenger.
Below, you can find the play-by-play results from the main card as they happened, and then below that a full list of results from the entire fight card.

90% of Cryptocurrency Market Facing ‘Extinction-Level Event’: Xapo President

A reckoning coming to the cryptocurrency markets, an “extinction-level event” that’s poised to wipe out 90 percent of the more than 1,800 coins and tokens that aren’t named bitcoin. That’s the prognostication of  Xapo  President Ted Rogers, anyway, who said that the impending altcoin bloodbath will provide discerning investors with an incredible opportunity to load up on  bitcoin  at a discount. “We could be in the midst of the extinction-level event for “cryptoassets” that many maximalists have predicted. 90%+ of @CoinMarketCap list will disappear eventually – might as well happen now,” Rogers wrote on Twitter. “Meantime, lower BTC price means incredible opportunity to buy more #bitcoin.” Ted Rogers @tedmrogers We could be in the midst of the extinction-level event for “cryptoassets” that many maximalists have predicted. 90%+ of @ CoinMarketCap list will disappear eventually - might as well happen now. There Is No ‘Bitcoin’: What the SEC Doesn’t Get About Cryptocurrency

Edan Yago is the founder of  CementDAO , an effort to bring together stablecoins into a unified ecosystem.  He previously was the CEO and co-founder of software firm Epiphyte and helped set up the industry associations DATA and the Stablecoin Foundation.  The views expressed here are his own. —————————- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been gone to significant lengths in an attempt to understand the crypto asset space. This effort is to be applauded. However, the SEC has failed to come to terms with one fundamental aspect of crypto assets and systems. Namely, properly constructed crypto systems do not involve “persons” or “entities” and do not represent a form of property. For this reason, they do not have any analogue in the traditional financial world, nor can they fall under financial regulation. In the traditional financial world, assets are a claim on a specific property. For example, a commodity, shares in a company or a debt o...
